Library
Mission Statement
The mission of the library media program is to ensure students are effective users of information by providing intellectual and physical access to materials in all formats; by providing instruction to foster competence and stimulate interest in reading, viewing and using information and ideas; by working with other educators to design learning strategies to meet the needs of individual students.
Internet Use
We are happy to provide Internet access in our school library. We ask that all students use the Internet responsibly. Our staff will monitor all student computer use to help insure that all Internet use is academically appropriate. If a student violates the library's policies, he/she may permanently lose library computer privileges.
About our Library
The Yuma High School library offers students a space to research, work, read, and relax. Students may spend their free time in the library before school and during lunches where they can work on assignments, hang out with friends, enjoy a good book, check out a board game, or participate in a craft activity at the Crims CreateSpace.
Library services include access to an online catalog, online databases that are accessible from any device with internet, one-on-one research assistance, printing, document scanning, and Interlibrary Loans (ILL). Students also have access to the library's book collection which includes fiction, non-fiction, biography, and Spanish language books; we are especially proud to have the largest collection of graphic novels in the district.
