Early College Opportunities
Concurrent Enrollment
Concurrent enrollment lets students take courses directly through an in-state college or university, earning credit both at their high school and at the college. If you’re interested in concurrent enrollment, follow these steps:
- Schedule a meeting with your counselor before you register. Your counselor will provide you with the required Concurrent Credit Form, which must be completed and approved prior to enrollment.
- After registering for the college course, complete the form in full, including all signatures and initials, and return it to your counselor with proof of enrollment.
Important: The form must be submitted before the course begins. Once courses are posted on your transcript, they cannot be removed.
Dual Enrollment
Dual enrollment lets high school students take college-level classes at their own high school and earn both high school and college credit. These classes, offered through partnerships with local colleges, give students a head start on college while staying in a familiar setting. Dual enrollment helps students explore new subjects, build skills, and prepare for future education and careers.
Speak to your counselor to see if any of your courses qualify for dual enrollment credits. All appropriate paperwork must be submitted.
